Greenman
has been successfully managing woodlands for over 14 years.
Over that time the needs of the woodland owner have changed
considerably, no longer is timber the main objective of
woodland management but goes hand in hand with conservation,
recreation and education. Finding the balance between these
sometimes conflicting objectives is where our experience
is essential.
Our
woodland surveys will identify species of flora and fauna,
identify any issues with problem species. We recommend measures
to increase native species, bio diversity and associated
benefits whilst considering public access and safety.
With
the statutory protection afforded to nesting birds, bats
and bat roosts our comprehensive understanding of all relevant
legislation is an essential management tool. We have considerable
experience in creating and improving habitat to encourage
boi-diversity within woodland.
We
can facilitate the transformation of forestry plantations
from monoculture block plantations to continuous cover woodland
employing alternative silvicultural systems that generate
income whilst keeping the benefit of continuous woodland
canopy.
